Salesforce PDP Day 5

Freeze a user
If an employee has left the company and still has tasks, contacts, or other relevant data attached to his or her profile, the System Administrator can freeze the profile.

Freezing locks the former employee from the system without deleting such data.

Deactivating the profile would delete all information outright.

Security and Access

For a user profile, there are many settings that can be adjusted, such as:

– Assigned Apps (setting which are visible in the app drop-down)
– Object Settings (i.e. opportunities – changing read only or edit access)

Reflection
I am continuing to uncover the array of nuts and bolts that keep the Salesforce operation running.

As I remain consciously incompetent in these early stages, it will be helpful to not force every detail into my memory, but connect synapses on the overall architecture.

(Just like learning a score as a conductor).

Security and Access will continue in Day 6 of my PDP.
