Continuing with security settings, we enter sharing settings.
It’s critical to set strict settings at the onset, then loosen and customize as needed.
There are different “objects” for which security can be customized, i.e. calendar, sales leads, and contacts.
An object is typically either: Public Read Only, Public Read/Write, or Private.
Sometimes, a sales lead, for instance, may need to be transferred to someone else at the company, so that access may be kept as “Public Read/Write/Transfer.”
Another options is “Controlled by Parent” for some objects. (This relates to the hierarchy and who “owns” objects, will be elaborated on in future lectures).
