A major trait in entrepreneurs is this:
One of his or her parents is an entrepreneur.
Why?
Self-concept and biology.
Self-concept is believing what is possible. Biology is believing what is normal for the group.
When you grow up with parents who are business people, you see it is viable and normal.
And a network/tribe of people attached to your family does too.
Subconsciously, you see that you will be celebrated if you also pursue business.
Conversely, if your network/tribe growing up are public sector workers, it’s harder. You are biologically programmed to attach to your group and be accepted.
Not only do you not gain access to the technical know-how of business, you may fear getting outcasted if you don’t do what is “normal” for your family.
But, you are worthy of belonging, intrinsically.
You are a sovereign being who can choose.
You can do what you wish, no matter your background.
And if you wish, you can create a new tribe.
Go where you’re celebrated. Do what makes you come alive.
