I hate the word “success.”
When I hear “success,” I think:
Stardom
Money
Accomplishment
Status
Awards
Clout
Titles
People like you
Are there real human needs in that list?
Yes, accomplishment. And money is a tool to meet needs.
But that list is thin.
I prefer a satisfied life to a successful life.
When I hear “satisfied,” I think:
Wholesome
Creative
Loving
Fulfilled
Meaning
Purpose
Openness
Accomplishment
Growth
Values
Authenticity
Regret-free
Joseph Campbell said, “the privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.”
Forget success.
Pursue the good life.
