Problems Aren’t the Problem

You will always have problems, challenges, and adversity.  And you wouldn’t want it any differently.

Problems facilitate fulfillment.  When you leverage and solve problems, you grow, you accomplish, you derive satisfaction.

And then, you’ll face new problems.

But what do you do in the face of your challenges?   You seek out pleasures.  You avoid pain.  You equate “happiness” with “feeling good.”

Perhaps meaning is more important than feeling good.  And meaning only comes from problems, from leaning into the discomfort of embracing adversity, from expanding your comfort zone.

By all means, meet your needs for comfort, ease, relaxation, and celebration.

Just know that those needs become all the more sweeter in the context of purposeful existence.

Cheers, peace, and Merry Christmas,
Joel
