I am thankful for holidays.
While I playfully set aside historical or religious roots of a holiday, there is a benefit of consistency in assigning days of the year for traditions of gathering, celebration, reflection, gratitude, and peace.
This TED talk, “Atheism 2.0,” touches on this.
Peace is appreciating the members of your tribe.
Peace is taking time to rest, for self-love.
Peace is presence, contentment, and enoughness.
Peace is letting all the logs you’ve thrown in the fire simply catch their flame.
We are all worthy of peace.
