Outdoors

Get outdoors, in nature.

The digital world offers great value.

But such value invites costs.

And I don’t just mean distraction in the moment (though that’s primary).

I mean the residue in your mind that clutters and swirls throughout the day, as you plug in.

But nature cleanses the mind, calms the nervous system, and creates serene presence.

So do it often.

If that seems hard in the modern world (it’s hard for me living in a city with no car), it’s understandable.

But you can be creative (i.e. take a walk with no phone and notice the birds chirping). With conscientiousness and intentionally, you can make it happen.

On top of a neighborhood walk though, keep aspiring for deeper, immersive nature experiences.

Make it a priority to plan a trip to the beach, the mountains, the forest.

Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit.
