Status Quo Bias

A truly free world would mean a truly decentralized currency.

But we’re all born into the status quo, and it becomes second nature that a controlled fiat currency is good enough.

Currency is one primary area. But the status quo bias applies in plenty of directions:

Government needs to exist
Government schools need to exist
Countries need to exist
War is part of life
Parents need to punish their children

People cling and clutch to the status quo for lizard-brain safety, security, and comfort.

In reality, uprooting the status quo would in turn increase safety, security, and comfort.

A peaceful and prosperous world would be quite the world, wouldn’t it?

No coercion, no war
Abundance of free market of educational options for all children’s needs
Abundance of free market security companies
Respectful, trustful, and honest interaction among individuals
A plethora of unconditional love from parents to children

If you are reading this and not already in my “camp” on this worldview, undoubtedly you have a multitude of “what ifs,” “but-what-abouts,” and “how woulds” flying through you mind and body.

Definitely don’t believe me uncritically. All I’d ask is that you note those impulses.

For they are your status quo bias doing jumping jacks.

So, peace is possible, but only by taking a radical, root-striking, and principled stance.

Because to truly change a world from non-peaceful to harmonious, you can’t cling to the familiar.

And you may say that I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one.
