The mark of a true intellectual is one who willingly looks at media sources that challenge one’s worldview.
But this is uncomfortable, because if we realize we’ve been wrong, our ego would be impacted.
But if we let go of ego, and honestly pursue knowledge, we disregard the source, we disregard our beliefs, we disregard our biases.
And we can dig for truth.
We can openly yet skeptically examine information as objectively as possible.
It’s hard – I know I resist doing it often. So I’m writing this blog post to encourage myself to follow through.
